NUR-D, real name Matt Allen is a hip-hop artist from Rosemount, MN. With smooth vocal stylings and constant pop-culture references Nur-D raps about his passions such as playing games, reading comics, mental illness and injustice.
Nur-D is an advocate for body positivity, Black Lives Matter, and the LGBTQ+ community.
In 2019 his album "Songs About Stuff" was named one of the top 10 albums by the Star Tribune. The album focuses on his trauma, relationships, and what he describes as "stuff". The same year City Pages voted him as Minnesota's Best New Musical Act.
After winning multiple open mic-competitions Nur-D was invited to perform at Soundset, one of the largest independent hip-hop festivals in the nation. He has toured with Brother Ali and MC Chris. His goal is to be your 7th favorite rapper of all time and to spread positivity through the power of song and dance.
